Who do you consider your friends? Is it those numbers on facebook? Is it those you correspond with daily? Is it those who seek you out because you are who you are?
All need to know that they matter to others, and that comes through frequent interaction and contact. Some of you reading this are true friends as well as brothers and sisters in Christ. Others I don’t hear from until there is a crisis in your life. Hmm. A hip pocket friend just like a hip pocket God. Pastor G and I did ask God what it means to be like Him. I can say to my God and my friend that I truly empathize.
Brethren, relationships take work, time and dedication. Do you let God know He matters daily? If you haven’t, will you begin? Be safe and be blessed.
14 My relatives have failed,
And my close friends have forgotten me.
9 Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted,
Who ate my bread,
Has lifted up his heel against me.
26 The righteous should choose his friends carefully,
For the way of the wicked leads them astray.
17 A friend loves at all times,
And a brother is born for adversity.
24 A man who has friends must himself be friendly,[a]
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
So, what kinds of friends do you have? If you’re like everyone else, you have those few that you can count on anytime and those who count on you in times of crisis and other times when it meets the person’s needs. In this way, we do know a little of how God feels. Let’s all remember to tell Him daily how we appreciate Him for who He is. God appreciates you when you do that.
