Do you love and practice God’s truth?

Brothers and sisters, this is a vital question that you need to prayerfully address.  Some mistakenly think what they understand to be God’s truth are sincerely wrong.  Others know what God’s truth is and live and preach otherwise.  Still more don’t get it that scripture is spiritually discerned and that it takes being indwelled and led by God the Holy Spirit to fully grasp scripture’s meaning.  Even then, we can sincerely misunderstand like the Apostle Paul zealously did.  He personally engineered circumstances that would send him to Rome bound like a prisoner immediately when God said he would be sent to Rome. Paul did not seek guidance as to His timing.  Paul didn’t ask, He just did what he understood, and God blessed his efforts anyway.

Acts 23:11(NIV)

11 The following night the Lord stood near Paul and said, “Take courage! As you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

Here’s a scripture God led me to this morning:

Revelation 22:7 (NIV)

“Look, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy written in this scroll.”

Revelation 22:10-15 (NIV)

10 Then he told me, “Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is near. 11 Let the one who does wrong continue to do wrong; let the vile person continue to be vile; let the one who does right continue to do right; and let the holy person continue to be holy.”

12 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Spiritual family, let us heed God’s word and not love and practice falsehood.  Let’s ask God to help us separate spiritual truth from spiritual error.  Examine yourselves and see the truth about Christ’s return in power and glory and that the rapture doctrine is a false one.  If you follow a prosperity gospel, understand that it’s not part of scripture, either.  John 10:10 refers to spiritual abundance.  That’s what Jesus came to give, teach and preach.  He wants us to literally have a wealth of knowledge and understanding about what it means to follow Him and live His way.  Understand that doesn’t mean God won’t bless you with physical things that prove to be temporary.  He can and will, but that’s His choice and not something we are entitled to.

Pray with me, please:  Father God, thanks for Your word through Your inspired word, the Bible.  We know it’s pure spiritual truth, but we also know that we can be in error in our perception and understanding of that truth.  Help us to make changes that are appropriate to our lives and, as best as possible, help us to follow Jesus and live His way.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
