Our Spiritual Love Connections

God has led me to share a message today about love.   It’s easy to love when you are in agreement, but how do you love when you sincerely follow Jesus and disagree about certain points in God’s word?   Do you have to be right?  Can you move forward in spite of things you don’t see eye to eye in and agree to disagree and leave it at that?

It’s really a question about spiritual maturity and discernment.   Believers are spiritual family. Families don’t always agree on how to do things and yet they remain related.  Some create barriers of self-righteousness that can’t be penetrated.  Some unfortunately choose to estrange themselves from others that don’t necessarily do or say harmful things but who do say different things.  And that’s sad.  We are here to love one another.  Ever wonder why God’s word specifically says that love covers a multitude of sins?  Love covers a multitude of differences and focuses on what’s important:  relationship.

God is relational.  Jesus is God.  We who are His follow Him, so we need to look at the different kinds of relationships He had while among us.   Even among those closest to Him, the relationships varied from teacher/student, to friend, to brother like the Apostle John (remember Christ gave him Mary (His mom) to look after?)  Jesus knew and knows how to connect.  Let’s learn and follow Him so that we can truly be love as He is.  After all, eternity will be miserable if we don’t have love connections now.
