Whose Strength and Ways Do You Rely On: Yours or God’s?

This morning God drew me to Hosea 10:12-13. It’s a challenge from God to the people then and to us now to change from our own ways and thoughts to His. Our ways are carnal, earthly, and His ways are heavenly, righteous.

“Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the Lord til He comes and rains righteousness on you.

You have plowed wickedness; you have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies because you trusted your own way in the multitude of your mighty men.”

Wow! I don’t know about you, but those words speak to me. People do tend to trust in their own strength and ways instead of God’s. Do you? Have you been living in ways that are not compatible with God’s way of life? Have you trusted in man’s system and the men associated with the system instead of God? If you have, now is the time to choose to return to Him and make sure that your life is indeed compatible with how He wants you to live. Pastor G and I pray that God rains His righteousness on us all.

    Whoa. Same wavelength, Sharon…

“You have eaten the fruit of lies because you trusted your own way in the multitude of your mighty men.”

Hosea’s words are right on. As I read in Tom’s latest post, “trusting in our own way” and in the way of “the multitude of our mighty men,” is actually trusting in the dude with the horns and pointy tail. The fruit of deception is the same result each and every time. Thanks for the post.

    • Thanks for your comment on my post “Whose Strength and Ways Do You Rely On, Yours or God’s?” There’s so much capitulation going on in our society today to man’s ways when they clearly conflict with how God created us to live and love.

God works through His prophets mightily, and Hosea is no exception. Sadly, like then, many today don’t have ears to hear.

Blessings and thanks for following His lead.
